Anybody done this before? I heard they have a fair bit on them but wondered if maybe I could keep them with my rays?

The Vulture I'm looking at buying is 12" and my rays are a good 13" Disc.

Calophysus macropterus is the scientific name

Idk about rays because Ive never kept them but I kept my vulture cat in community tanks without any issues until he died at 15-16 inches

Well this is why I am asking... Just wanted to know I anybody had successfully done it?

I have done some reading up and seemed like yes they had a good bite on them but are generally fairly in aggressive

Mine wasn't aggressive but sometimes if my other fish bullied on him long enough he would snap back but he never damaged any of the other fish.

I have an Achara that is a sweetheart. He is 20 inches long, has fish in with him under 2 inches and he never eats them. I would never ever put him in with my rays. It just takes that one bite to cause serious issues. A bite and a shake may just end it before you even have time to notice, leaving a whole tank of cloudy water, filled with dead/dying fish... so I guess it all just depends on your connection to your fish, your wallet, and your gambling habits.

Here is my guy. I have 2 rays coming next week & am putting them in a different tank. This cat is pretty cool most of the time with everyone, but at feeding time is a different story. He's all over the tank & gets what he wants! I have enough tanks not to mix them, so I would rather be safe than sorry. But this fish is awesome! Are you looking at getting yours from J. Rapps? That's where this one came from.
