Hey all. I have a unfinishable basement, so why not make it into a little hobby area, right? I have 2 6x6 floor supports nearly right next to each other. Im thinking of building a 75g stand onto it. I think, as shown in my "drawing" that 8 total screws into the 6x6 supports gives me 720lbs of strength on the rear end. I was going to then support the front with either 2x4s or even a 4x4 to cover each front corner. Any thoughts or concerns?

Nothing on the floor that will get water damage? Give it a shot!

720 lbs of strength... aa 75 gallon tank is 75x8.33 = 624.75.

That is just the water weight, not including staand/decorations/gravel ect....

Cutting it close.

I'd be tempted to fully support it underneath and not use the beams supporting the weight of your house/floor to support the tank I'm not an engineer, but I think they design support sizes based on expected load, you'd probably be adding to that load in an unexpected manner.
