Since I am seeing xmas stuff out already in all the stores, I thought I'd post this idea I had for mounting my Walmart xmas blue led's.

They are mounted in my diy light bar for my 125. To mount them, I used that plastic corner stuff for drywall. I pushed a tapered pin through the holes to make them the right size, then I pushed the led's through. I trimmed the excess plastic from the one side with scissors.

Then I used rivets to mount the whole thing to my lightbar, but you could easily use two sided tape or some other method.

Hope someone can take this idea and run with it.

Looks neat!
I just throw mine on top of the tank...
Creates a different atmosphere everytime!lol
But yours is easier during maintenance, i'm sure!

Btw...I've seen other xmas led installations, and some of them have the led's on their side. This won't work well, as these xmas lights direct most of the light out the end rather than radiating out the sides.

Thats why I mounted them this way...fwiw.

Here's a pic of these same lights on my old 55 gal. (Its not really as bright as this....long exposure on a tripod)

Here's a pic of this light bar on my 125. The light in the cabinet is an algae scrubber.
