I've never done this before but was wondering if anyone has ever mounted a fish that they've kept, like after it died? I just figured if you had a big prized aro or sumthin and it died for whatever reason wouldnt it be sweet to have it mounted? If you have pics lets see'm.

Yeah, I have a hard enough time pulling that lever to flush my fish (assuming it's small), much less go through all that work mounting them.

Only if i knew the taxidermist did a nice job.. I've seen some horrid mounts. And I've seen some spectacular ones. Not sure still. But I must admit I did see a sharp looking TSN mounted over a fishtank at a bar. that Was pretty neat.

Myself personally I wouldn't mount any of my pets not my snakes, lizards, dogs, or fish but I am also a hunter and fisher and would definately mount a great fish, or deer

Anyway, I think it would be cool to have my aro mounted when it dies, but I'm not sure how much that would cost.

i was thinking about it once...

i do know a great taxidermist here in michigan that specializes in fish if anyone is interested.

he did a $30k koi for a guy once....

they charge by the inch and good ones are not cheap.. it usually takes weeks to months depending on how backed up the guy is.. most have a 6 month waite.. and you must have photos of the fish alive for them to paint them to match the photo. mount bass you catch not your pets :S

There is a guy on here that has a pleco mounted to a piece of driftwood. Don't know his name though.
