Have you ever heard or even witnessed that if one fish of a pair dies, the other one mourns and dies too not a long time afterwards? I have heard a lot of people talking about it, but haven't found any actual proof of it or a study.
i have heard of this, more with fish that have been together for years and not just male and female pairs. its like they died of a broken heart. usually big intelligent fish like oscars though but i had a female ram die a couple of years ago and the male went funny after that and eventually died but obviously i dont know if it was a broken heart that killed him or just old age.
not 1 person can prove this due to us not being able to mind read or talk to fish though. but as a old romantic i like to think my ram died of a broken heart.
hmmmm. I had a prized firemouth pair, and the male was murdered a few weeks ago. I found the female swimming around his body, but as soon as I removed him, she went back to normal. She still has her breeding tube out though, and is still defending their old nesting site. Who knows?
