I have a mouse in my house, and the little bastard scared me half to death. I thought at first when I saw it that it was a big bug. I have seen it several times in the last two days, and tried to catch it. The little bastard is actually kind of cute, but I can't stand surprises, or vermin running free. I set mouse traps, and if I do catch it he will suffer the consequences. If I catch him live he gets fed to my bass. Any good suggestions for mouse traps? I want him alive or dead.

At my dads old warehouse we use trays and put this one glue (i think super glue) all over the tray and in the middle of the tray was cheese. the mouse would get stuck. it would be alive but stuck

peanut butter in a trap works wonders!

Howdy,

I am against glue traps, IMO they're inhumane. End it quick, get an old-fashioned mouse trap and use some bacon (heated over a match or candle) as a bait. I would also not feed a rodent to my fish, it would go into the trash can...

Yeah...we use glue traps at work and I absolutely hate them. The poor thing just suffers to death. I go with humane traps. When we had a mouse infestation in our house we used these humane traps where it was a tube set at a 45 degree angle. One end you would spread some cheese or peanut butter and the other side is a trap door. We would realse them out into the park. If you want to feed them to you fish...just use the old fashion mouse trap and put it out of it's misery before you feed it to the fish.

glue traps kill mice, they stress out that there sittin stuck to a piece of paper, and end up thrashing around til there face gets stuck, tail, all arms n legs, and you can't even get them off the paper. you jus throw it away. i prefer mice pellets to get rid of them. but if u wanna catch it, old fashion mouse trap. it will be dead when u find it tho. unless you hear the SMACK of the trap n get to him in time.

it is amusing that folks who will gladly feed their fish live feeders etc are concerned that a glue trap is inhumane.....

It's ironic, I have to admit ;)

But I draw the line right at mammals. Anything below is fish food. It has to do with the complexity of the central nervous system as a result of the position on the evolutionary ladder. Yet, even below that line, minimization of suffering is the right of every living creature.

Besides, there are many ways to kill an animal - and one involves prolonged suffering, why would you go for causing stress and pain? Believe me, death by a piscivore is faster than a glue trap...

Pellets/poison is almost useless these days, especially in the city...There are many generations of rodents that have become immune to available poisons...The sticky trap is a sure fire way to deal with an in-house problem...Outside, use old fashion snap traps...If not, buy a dozen or so baby ball pythons and let them loose in the house....
