Yes they are! Did you have any specific questions?

Get a male and a few females, make sure the water's good and let nature takes it's course. It doens't get much easier than that. There are a few species that are more prolific breeders than others, Yellow labs for instance. They are very easy to breed. Mbuna are another easy to breed species.

Substrate spawners are the way to go IMO, but I'd go with some of the haps or something a bit more uncommon than typical mbuna
