Mouth brooders

My hap44 recently got pregnant and I have a few questions...first do mouth brooders eat at all while holding? If so, should I get something special for her? I've only had convicts breed before, and they don't hold, so any info on breeding hap44's would be appreciated. I've only had them in my tank for a week!! Also, does anyone know the gestation time? I've been looking on the net but haven't found anything on that.

she should be able to eat because she keeps them in a pouch in her mouth seroerate from her feeding tube, i dont know anything about gestation time sorry.

My Geo's completely ignore food when they are holding, I hope that helps!

At night when I feed my fish, she darts in there like she wants to eat, chasing after flakes, but won't open her mouth. I feel sorry for her....lol.

she should be fine you would have to strip out the babies in about 18-20 days

mine have never eaten whilst holding!

Although most do not eat while holding, I have found a NLS pellet in with fry that have been stripped.

What does "being stripped" mean? This type of breeding is new to me.
