Hi I just added a 6 inch flowerhorn in with my almost equal sized Jack Dempsey and they are locking mouths. I don't want to have my Jack get ruined. Should I take the Flowerhorn out and return it? :irked:

Well after about half an hour I have taken the flowerhorn out. That was short a short lived pet. He was the larger fish but my Jack seemed to have the bigger mouth and did more damage to the lips of his opponent. Live and learn. Flowerhorns as you said do not do well with other fish. Is there anyone out there that has had them get along with other fish? Did I make the right call by keeping my gorgeous JD?

I got the flowerhorn for a steal. $9.99 because someone turned it in to the store and one other person had already tried. I'll try to get some pics up. The Jack was not much more and I have had it for about 10 months now. Kinda attached to him.

Yeah, I think it differs from fish to fish. Ive had mine for over a year with all my SA/CA

I would keep the JD. I'm not into hybrids.

keep the jack, get some other fish.... midas, red devil, flowerhorn, and lots others jus cant have tank mates, ok ok MOST of the time they cant

Yeah I was hoping to get some festae for tank mates but maybe that is a bad idea. Anyone have any thoughts on that. Are red terrors as bad as that flowerhorn which is now back at the store was?
