How big is their mouth? Can I keep my 9'' BGK with full grown angels? How about with half grown ones? My husband's Angels keep pairing up and beating up the leftover ones. So he is running out of tanks to put them in.:nilly:

I just need to know if they are compatible or if the BGK will go after them.

I have heard that BGK have a taste for 'Angel Eyes'.
Not sure if it is true or not.
I think it would also depend on the size of the tank (territory), the other tanks mates, and how 'peaceful' Snooky is.

I had a BGK in a Cichlid grow out tank along with Red Seprae Tetras until the BGK was around 7.5"... When a fish gets big enuogh to eat the Tetras that's how I know it's time to move it to another tank...

That may not directly answer your question but I feel it's a safe reference point to consider your Angles with...

mouth size, ok he's 11½" but should give you an idea of size :)

as to wether it will be ok with angels is hard to say, depends on temperment. I did see someone on here with bgk and angels mixed but forgot who it was.
hope this helps :D

I keep my 10" BGK with some angels and have no problems what so ever. He never bothers the angels, the only thing that upsets him is when the CK tries to pinch his cave!

Keep us updated.

I have 3 Angels in a QT tank now and I am hoping that there is no 'pairing up' until I get my larger tank resealed and ready for them.

If they do then the only option I would have is to put the 'odd angel out' into my 72 with my BGK. That was my original plan but when I posted the idea I was told about several 'stories' where the 'eyes' were missing on the Angels.

I think it should work... just a chicken to try :)

Angels like all cichlids are mostly fast growers. I would suggest removing the bgk incase the angels started to breed.
