I am curious:
OK, so the deed has been done and your female ray is probably pregnant but male aggression continues so you decide to move one of them to another tank.
Do you move the male or the female? why that one and not the other?
For the record I would only ever move the males around, the females were always the queen of their domains. I always thought that if you move and stress the male and he goes " off his oats" for a while then not such a big deal, but if you move ( and stress) a pregnant female it could have bigger consequences .
What do you think?

i think you should move the male, and leave the prego female alone.

However, i moved my female when she was a week or so pregnant on her last litter and the pups were fine and had 3 healthy pups. I moved her becasue all the rays on the tank (females included) were picking on her and i did not have a place to move all the other rays, so i moved her instead. I think i have heard of others moving a prego female too, but it could be risky IMO

i did not vote as i moved my female, but would have moved the male if possible.

don't move any put a divider in :D

or add another female

I voted move the male for reasons stated above. But, when my motoro pair was breeding I didn't have the space for another tank for the male. So I put a divider in to prevent the male from biting the female.

Always the male, all the time.

Moving pregnant females causes stress and risking a premature labor & death.

Scooped with a net and thrown into the female tank, my males are 'off the oats' for 30s before re-humping the females. Sex before they even had time to readjust.

Haven't had the opportunity yet, but when it does come. Will move and if I can't then
divide.
