I have a 6 or 7 inch common pleco in my 20 gallon platy tank....i would like to move him into the 55 gallon if possible but i dont want to kill it because it was one of the first fish i got....the green spotted puffers are in that tank now, two of them about 1"....there is some salt but very little the specific gravity is about 1.06 which is almost the same as the platy tank. is this possible to do? I think the pleco would be a lot happier in a bigger tank.

If you've already got him in that specific gravity, and it's fine, I wouldn't see a problem other than the puffers might harrass the heck out of it, or rip chunks out of it.

if its a water question i think thats covered.. if this is a "how" question.. dont use a net.. use yer hand and a plastic pitcher (like the kind you make iced tea in)

I agree, the puffers would be my only concern.

is it worth the risk? what would the "procedure" be to move it over? bag and float? or just drop it in? if i keep and eye on it while he's in there to make sure he's not being eaten okay? will the change put it into shock?
