So I recently moved and transferred a small community in my 55 fallen to my 200 gallon while I build a platform (unlevel floor) for my 55gal. The new apartment is one city away with a different water treatment plant. The
Tank is cycled, and no one is sick
(yet).

In the tank I got tetras, silver dollars, corys, syndontis cat, zebra plec and bristle nose plec. All fish have muted colors, my bleeding hearts are almost see through. Everyoe is adult.

I got no nh3,n02, 20ppm n03. Ph 8 (same as before). I did t not check the hardness or kh, but I have the tests to do them. Temp is 78-79( lil high).

Do u think the new water source is stressin them out?

I added new substrate (white sand). They came from black gravel, so at first I thought they were just try to match the substrate.

Any clue guys?

The muting color is a result of lighter environment. Does your tank seem glaring to you at all? Their colors wash out when everything is too bright for them.

Unless you've observed unusual symptoms such as lack of appetite and jerking around, then the fish may not be sick at all, just color change which is normal for them.

Their behavior is normal except for one neon tetra that has been sitting on the bottom and losing balance. This one was rejected from the school a long time ago and all my neons are over a year and a half, which is getting old.
I assumed the color washing was from the substrate. Does this stress the fish out? Will the return to normal? The tank is glaring a bit. I havent been using lights because the sunlight lights the tank up very well as my blinds are cheap.

I should of mentioned the neon was an adult when I bought it, so I do not know the age. I know they live longer then two years. He is not beat up, fins are not frayed.

Not necessarily. Fish will adjust colors according to their surroundings. Watch the outcast neon closely. Try to shade the tank. Too much sunlight exposure will cause temperature to fluctuate and algae bloom rapidly.

These are some concerns I share as well. I know how effective sunlight is to alage, I'm just poor at the moment and need some cheap curtains until I can get some nice wooden blinds.
