I live in nyc and just receantly had got a new apt im losing alot of my stuff but i can keep my 150 but i need to get it up 4 fl walk up in brooklyn any ideas???

strap it onto a dolly. one person pulling it up the stairs, one person pushing. check with your superintendent about a service elevator somewhere in the building. sometimes there is still a service elevator even if there are no residential elevators.

i assume youve checked your building codes and whatnot concerning the 2000 lb tankk you plan to set up on the fourth floor. id consider the placement of the tank carefully--spot it above or close to a weight bearing element.

there is also the option of hoisting the tank from the roof to a large window or balcony if you have one using a winch. this requires some technical know how though and is typically dobe as a last resort.

Yeah I talked to them about the wait it's a Concrete building I also have a bathtub in the apartment that has to be close to the same weight as the tank

well not to be argumentative, but a bathtub is not the same and is usually installed with weight constraints in mind. unless somebody is constantly running a full to the brim bath 24 hours a day you won't have the constant pressure that a full fish tank will be applying. thats why it is very important to plan the placement of the tank wisely. moreover, i would wager to say your average bathtub holds about half of your proposed tanks volume.

good luck with your move.

in a concrete building you should be fine with the weight of 150. I don't have any great ideas about moving it up 4 flights of stairs other than going to a gym and offering the local meatheads 50$ each to help. I'm moving to an apartment soon too and am going to be replacing my glass tanks with acrylic ones to help with the move. If you can find an acrylic tank that is of similar size that might be a good idea.
