I'm looking at ordering a 300 gallon (glass) tank from glasscages. Unfortunately I don't have 6 strong friends in the area to call on for help moving this into my house.

Has anyone moved a monster tank in the south Jersey area and can make a recommendation on movers?

A friend suggested using a pool table moving service - has anyone here ever tried that?

Any other creative suggestions for moving a tank this size??

where do u live in south jersey??

i have a truck with a long bed my 300 gallon fit perfectly in the back. im down to help.

Thanks for the replies everybody....

I'm in Marlton, near Cherry Hill.

I was planning on buying the suction cups, based on other people recommending them. Seems like it would be nearly impossible without them.

If there's enough people from here that are willing to help - then a case of beer for everybody!

I'm hoping I can get a shipper through glasscages that will unload the tank from the truck to my garage, then I'll just need help moving it around the house and into the living room.

Get some of these... http://www.harborfreight.com/dual-cup-suction-lifter-46134.html

They make moving a large glass tank much easier. Also...if you're not too far from me, i'll give you a hand.

I"ll be honest I probably wouldn't risk getting the cups from Harbor Freight when moving such a large tank... the tank is to valuable in comparison to the cups to even think about risking it. Get some higher quality nice ones. I would hate to see you bust your tank after a handle on one of these broke, just to save a couple of bucks on a set of the suction cups...

Good luck! If I were close I would help out for free! Just so I could help with a tank that large! :D

Good luck!

Yeah, I don't think I'll buy the Harbor Freight cups just because the cost of the tank wouldn't be worth cheaping out on the cups and ruining it...

So if anybody knows where to get solid quality but maybe a little cheaper than the $60/pair ones that'd be great.

And I stand by my offer if there's enough MFK'ers in the area to help I'll gladly buy you EACH a case of beer or whatever it is you drink (after the heavy lifting is done :))
