So, I bought a 75 gallon last week, set it up where I want it to be, and it's ready to add fish to (used, so it's already cycled). Today I was informed that we're tearing up the carpet in that room and installing hardwood floors. Unfortunately, I just placed a hold on an oscar; they'll only hold him for a week.
First, what is the best way to drain and refill the tank without disrupting the good bacteria? Do I really have to just fill it with 5 gallon buckets that have dechlorinated water in them?
Any tips for moving a tank so it doesn't stress the glass or seams?
What is the best way to house the oscar when I move the tank back downstairs to cause the least stress to him? Should I catch him with a net or pillow case? He's about 10" right now.
