Hey guys,
Well i finally decided to redo my floors of my house. After the hurricane we had a couple of months ago, my wood floors messed up. I just setup my new 75 gallon tank and now i have to move it to a bedroom till the living room is done. I really need some advice on what to do. I was thinking of putting some water in a plastic trash can and moving the tank and pouring the same water back in. HELP!!
Right now i only have about 15 tetras and some loaches. Luckily i hadnt bought any of my discus yet.

I have a 100 gal. Rubbermaid stock tank to hold fish when I tear down a tank. Since you don't have many fish, a plastic trashcan will work fine. Siphon water out of your tank into the can, add your filter, heater, fish, and you have a temporary tank to hold them in until you set the tank back up. If you have a hang on filter, you can remove the bio media, and just toss it in the can with the fish. You don't want to lose cycle. Oh yeah, you should empty the tank before you move it, or the stress on it could shatter it to pieces.

Agreed with that idea. They usually hold about 30 gallons of water. Think of it as a water change =D. Keep the old water and make sure you DO not run your filters dry. If your media dries, your BB die as well. So yea you should be fine having them in a trash can.
