Moving a Tiger Ray

I have a male tiger ray which is around 12 inches in diameter. I am moving him to a large tub very soon since he has outgrown the tank. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to do this? I want to make sure everything goes smoothly. I also want to make sure I don't damage the tail.

Get a large rubbermaid container and just scoop him up into it. If he doesn have to leave the water all the better

just watch out for the tail if you scoop him out.. ive had pretty hairy experiences with large rays and scooping them out in tubs. Try getting a large plastic bag and luring him inside it.

A rubbermaid container won't fit the opening of the tank so a large plastic bag will most probably do the job. The tub will be his permanent home.

Is there anything I can put in the water to make him more relaxed?

The tub will be 8 feet long, 4 feet wide and 3 feet high.
