moving Aussie water dragon

Hi, I'm staying with my parents for a couple of months over the summer and need to take my water dragon with me as there will be no-one at my flat to take care of him..... the only thing is its about 12 hours of travelling (Christchurch to Taupo). How should I go about moving him? I have a plastic tub, if I just put some shredded newspaper in the bottom and chuck him in will he be sweet for that period of time? Should I dampen the newspaper?

You might want to find some sort of heat source. Maybe a car cigarette lighter outlet and some sort of heating device.

Really? I was more concerned about him over heating, seeing as he will be in the car. It is summer here after all. Also if I were to heat the plastic tub then he wouldn't have anywhere to go and cool down. Its large enough to transport him in but its not like I would expect to keep him in it long term.

Oh heh. I forget that its not Minnesoa weather everywhere. I guess heat isn't a problem then.

He/she should be pretty good. Just provide it with some short term necessities.

No food for a couple days/week before. Put some bedding in there so he is comfy and let him be. He will be fine in there. Use the ac if you have to. If your comfortable in the car he should be too.
