I'm in the process of painting a balck background of a 72"x30"x24" glass tank. when done i was thinking about purchasing some suction cup things that they use to move glass. so i was wondering if anyone knows of good ones to get that won't really put a big dent in my pocket. unless someone has some i can borrow when i'm ready to do so. thanks everyone

I know people on this board have used them with success, but I would feel much safer having a strong person holding each corner instead on a tank that size.

if one of those were to let go, its trouble. potentially, a broken tank and a broken toe.

I also question how great they are for the seals of the tank. supporting the tank from the bottom four corners is not the same as supporting the full weight of the tank from anchor points on the glass.

the stand that the tank is going on has a raised boarder to cover tank trim so i would need to lift up and place down

they could set it with a slight angle on the stand. Then grab the top to finely adjust it to fit into the stand.

^^ AGREED ^^ I've seen them but have had my doubts about using them.

They work fine and are good on much larger tanks where flex can be a problem. Not worth it for a size of that sort of tank.
Grab a few friends and lift into place.

i guess i'll save some money and get some friends to help
