My crib
Might be seen as a stupid question but I'm paranoid!
My current wet/dry is being replaced by the manufacturer due to imperfections. When I move the bio balls from the old system to the new one, what are some pointers to ensure the BB stays alive and well - I cannot afford any ammonia spikes.
Will handling the bio balls in some way kill the BB?

Thanks

Nah, just keep em' damp and don't subject them to temperature extremes. I'd siphon out a bucket of water from the fish tank, then put the bioballs in there until they are ready to go back into the sump/filter...whatever. The bacteria are just like anything else in a fish tank, they need oxygen, water current and temp. to thrive so if it's going to take more than a few minutes, hours, days...throw an airstone in there.
