hallo,
I have to move 2 fishes ( 1 orino 16" + 1 mono 12" ) from 600 gal tank to 250 and 10 fishes ( 2 mono,2orino,3 kelberi,3melanie from 6"to 9”) from 250 to 600.
I bought the babies from Boettner house's 1 year ago, may be to many; I thought to lose some of them, but fortunately that’s not appened.
Now they are growing and I can’t put all together at the moment, till some months.
I need your suggestions.
My plan is:
Move water from 600gal to a plastic tank of 50 gal with pump recirculation + heater and put there the 2 bigs, waiting the 250 will be free.
Than put the babies in different plastic bags and let them in the 600 gal to achieve the same temperature.
Now transfer the bigs from the plastic tank to the 250 gal, also in plastic bags.
Release all the fishes.
What do you think, could it work?
One problem is to catch the 2 bigs, do you have some idea?
Some pics

Thank you
Roberto

If the temp is the same on both tanks i would do wc's on both tanks. And while the tanks are low swap the bass. Drop and plop. Or acclimate them in rubbermaid tubs then add to the new tanks.
Pull the wood from that 250 to avoid the bass from scraping during the move and will also give the big boys more room in the 250.

X2 exactly.
thank you guys
I'll do what you suggest, I'm thinking to use the rubbermaid because I'm not sure to put the bigs in the same water with the babies, I don't wont to make them like food!
It will be easier drop and plop directly, there is this risk for you?

put the big boys in tubs...seperate tubs.
Then move the little guys into the 600.
