I have two tanks. one is a thirty gallon that contains about 20 african rift cichlids all smaller than 2 inches long. some very small. I was going to move them into my 55 gallon containing , that contains a large 7 to 8 inch leopard pleco. Will the Africans pick on/kill the pleco? any advice on how to not lose any cichlids during the moving process:eek Any tips will be appreciated. I was just going to try and use the water from each tank in the other tank to make the fish comfortable with their "Home" water.

Thanks everyone for reading and have a great weekend

rite first of all take out all the rock out of the 30g and make sure theres alot in the bigger one, then get a tub, maybe ice cream or something like that then put an air supply in the tub so the fish don't die.

then turn out the lights and come back in about 1-2hours so the fish should be asleep then just sweep them up and put them in the tub, rest the tub in the bigger tank so they climatise after about 10-20mins just empty the tub of fish into the tank turn the lights of and check on them in the morning.

the pleco no they won't at the size u have them at unless u have particually aggresive ones like johanni and auratis, the pleco should be absoloutly fine.

good luck with moving them

I rearrange fish all the time.Unless one is heavily buffered or has alot of driftwood parameters should be the same or similar enough.Id just move them if the temps are close.
