I will be moving from Wainwright to Borden (one hour north of Toronto) in January. I would like to try and keep most of my fish with me I will be buying a tank and have it set up at my in-laws in Toronto before I move. How long can I have fish bagged for before I need to change the water? I will be using bag buddies and keeping the fish packed lightly. I will be staying in hotels along the way. I have done Winnipeg to Wainwright with a box of fish before. I know that I can drive to Toronto in 40 hours by my self in good weather, so I January I figger it will tak

My guess is your a soldier! I think its awsome that your staying in the hobby while serving in the military. I gave it up completely for the eight years I spent in the Canadian Forces because of the constant base hopping!

If your inlaws have a tank set up in TO then you may consider shipping them overnight by Puralator in styrofoam containers packed with oxygen. Starve them for a couple of days so there is less fecal matter consuming oxygen and their metabolisms are slow. You may need to pay a premium to keep the boxes in a heated environment for the duration of the trip.

Have the inlaws receive the fish and put them in the holding tank and look after them while you move your family. Wainright to Borden by car in high winter you will have more to be concerned about than looking after your fish.

I live in GTA are. If you need some extra tank space while you move your family I can spare a hundred gallon tank for a while. Just let me know.

Good luck with your new posting

Has any shipped by air West Jet or Air Canda? I do have lots of Live fish boxes so I can ship them how ever I need to.
