Ok, I know Aros can breath air if they have to... but would a 1 foot Aro be ok for a 16 hour car ride in the biggest cooler I can lay my hands on? Does any one have any ideas? what if I had a second bucket of aquarium water and dripped it into the cooler as we drove? would that help things?

Does any one have any ideas or should I just find some one locally that wants one?

does any one have a filter that plugs into my cigarette liter?

hrmm i think u can try goin to an electronics store that converts the car plug into a regular household plug and then put the pump in there

Well, if it's a car ride, and your keeping it in a cooler, you could probably get away with just doing water changes instead of hooking up some kind of filter. Just make sure you check the pH and temp before adding water so you don't shock the aro.

And you can buy a portable air pump from just about any bait shop, maybe even wal mart. They usually run off of 2 D cell batteries.

Your fish will probably be fine. When hurricane Wilma came through I lost power for a little over a week and my aro was fine. He was a little under a foot long in a planted 55gal, and he survived with only 1 or 2 water changes until I got power back.

Just make sure it doesn't jump out of the cooler. :WHOA:

i picked up my 11'' RTG aro from london and i live 4-5 hours away.
it was put in a very large bag in a polystyrene fish box and was totally fine when i got it home

Ok, thanks for the imput. I feel a little more confident about moving the fish now...
