Ok, I'm moving in 2 weeks and I have 3 tanks currently running. It's a short trip so I'm not too worried about transporting the fish themselves but I'm concerned about setting the tanks back up. How should I preserve a chemical balance so that it's not a 99% water change? Ideas? I'm on the verge of collecting empty 1g bottles and filling my trunk with tank water to re-use lol.

go to home depot and grab a bunch of 5 gallon buckets, or if your using a moving truck, use clean garbage pails to move the water in.

small. a 10 and 2 29s. So a few more 5g buckets should do the trick. I was just thinking that seemed like overkill but couldn't think of anything better.

ive moved tanks before try to keep all the substrate wet and keep as much water as posible dont forget the air pumps in youre fish containers.

I'm not sure air pumps will be necessary, it's like a 10 minute drive.

Just leave the ten half filled. Leave about 8-10 gallons in the 29s and your good to go. Hell, even leave the fish in the tanks. You said the move was short right? Move em like this and use new water on the other end. I move my classroom tank like this and no problems. Just watch the sharp turns.
