shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I am moving and I was just wondering, if I dont save any of the current water, but fill up with clean water once Im settled, will it be a problem? Every other time Ive moved tanks I saved half the water but this time I only have one bucket. Quick responses will be much appreciated because Im moving tommorrow!

no, it will still recycle. however keep your media in your filter, and keep all your gravel and get some prime, and it wont take as long to cycle.

Ive moved several time with some pretty sensetive fish , what I do is fill a cooler about half full of tank water , drain the tank and put my filter media in the cooler , the cooler will keep temps almost normal , move the tank fill up with new water and prime and add the fish . There may be a mini cycle so keep a close eye out , but the 3 times i moved i havent lost any fish. Good luck

When I moved my tank, I kept all the water in my canister filter, and a bit of water in a cooler (where I had my fish), and just filled up the tank with new water + whatever water was in the cooler at the new location, added prime and the canister filter, and didn't ahve any dead fish + water was fine.

As long as you keep the filtermedia and some of the water you should be fine. I have never had any problems doing it that way. Just be sure to keep an eye on your water parameters.

how big is your tank? if it's a 10gal.. then the filters will be fine. but, if your moving a 300gal....the filter and 25% of the water would be good.
