Moving fish

Hi im pretty new to this and i was wondering how you transfer fish to another tank. I have a 29 gallon and im getting a bigger tank soon.I was wondering what i should do to the water first or i dont what do i do before moving the fish over. Thanks

i would just put the fish in a bucket with an air stone then put the old water in the new tank along with the same old filter to avoid new tank syndrome good luck

If you are going to be using a new filter, run it on the 29 for a week or so before the swap.

Make sure to keep the old one running as well though.

I would have the other tank up and running before the transfer...if you can add your old filtration to it in addition to cycling it you should be golden. Good luck with the move and enjoy your new tank!
