i have a 29 gallon tank and i am getting a 72 gallon today im wondering how long i should wait before moving them to the other tank and how would i do it? i have clown loaches, red tail shark and a spiney eel

I would just move them all over at once. The filters are the important part. While the bacteria inside anyway. It would be similar to doing a 50 percent waterchange. I would monitor the parameters closely afterwards. Maybe keep some stability on hand. And of course you should already have prime.

Howdy,

Use the same filters, don't clean them, and you'll be okay

First off what kind of filters do you have on the 29g and are you planning on using them on the 75g?

Definitely use the same filters, but consider purchasing another filter if the ones you have are not enough. Just move the fish into a bucket with a heater and air stone; they will be fine for a while. Next move your substrate and wait for the floating debris to settle somewhat. Add the fish and your done!

im kinda stuck because the tank i bought came with three fish and i kept half the water right now there both setup with different filters and want to put them in the bigger tank should i put them in a bag and let them sit in it for 20 min and than throw them in? the filter for the 72 gallon is under the tank im not sure what its called :( anyone help?
