Hi, I'm new to the forum and hobby. I started out with a pair of firemouths in a 20g tank and stocking increased gradually with time to 2 severums and 2 plecos. I maintained the tank for a year with 2 losses my female firemouth and a pleco. So recently I bought a 90g tank and i'm in the process of transering the inhabitants to the larger tank. I have a question about stocking, if I increased the number of fish by 4 sevs would i be ok? (im running a external filter 1400lt/hour).

not gonna work. You post 3 times and you use a youtube video as your main reasoning?

I have a 90 right now, less stock than you are planning, and they get along fine. If you see how large a full grown male sev can be, then you would know there is no room for a pack of them in a 90. May be a schoaling fish, but there cichlids, this is not in nature, this is in a small four foot glass cage. J

Looking around on You Tube I found this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBmQkp1kap0&feature=related
it shows a total of 9 co-existing and reading relative articles it is noted as a shoalling fish such as the scalare and festivum. So probably I could add another 4 and see how it goes.

WOW:screwy:, youtube must know all then. That means i can keep my oscars, red devil, severums, geos and green terror in my 55g because i have seen a video with that stocking.

To answer your question. Try two only, because they will fight. But you try a few other peaceful fish like sajicas, acaras and things in that aggression.

P.S. Don't come on to this forum and ask a question and then when you don't get the answer you want, try and prove us wrong with a youtube video.

I agree with the above. I would try and get a pair and then add dithers or something along those lines.

Youtube videos are not reliable info by any means.
