Moving Fry

Hello MFK,
I have had pretty nice success with getting my Stalsbergi pair to spawn, but I am having trouble keeping fry past a couple weeks, most likely due to tank mates picking them off.

When would be an appropriate time to remove the fry into another holding tank?

No problem, do you have any pics of the parents? I have a trio growing out right now, still very small about 2". Where are you in Iowa?

yup soon as they free swimmers, move them to a grow/nursery tank. I feed regular pellets ground in A coffee grinder. make sure to have pre-filters on all intakes,.

using a regular small fish net is fine to snag them.

Got them moved. I have some of the powder NLS Grow for Fry and Decap Brine Shrimp.

I've also used Turkey basters for small fry too

I use the same hose for water changes to siphon out the fry and move them into their own 'grow out' tank.
