Moving fry

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you have a male in there they will defend the fry so I would wait till they are .5" or you can let them grow up in the tank. Worked for me

I agree with 'repair'.

Fry do much better with their parents; faster growth, behavior development, security, lower death rate.

I have raised various species of fry and they all thrieve better with their parents. If one or both the parents begins to eat their own fry.... I would not remove the fry from the tank in which they were born... just use a 'homemade' or store purchased tank divider to seperate them from the parents. The fry can still benefit from their parents, if housed in the same tank.

jus let the daddy take care of it.. they tend to be more indenpendent faster. and the daddy does a good job in maintaining "law and order" among the bosterious frys

wow, I had no idea. Too late though, I moved them cuz I thought they would get eaten for sure, but now they are swimming around and doing good

Congratulations!
Lol, but watch out, the GTs will breed again, and again, and again, and again lol
Get ready for many more fry, when you moved them how big were they and what water did you move them into?
I always move fry once they at least reach 6mm long and move into a plastic small tank with the water from the previous tank (dip the small plastic tank in the big tank water)
