Hi guys I'm going to be moving my RTG from the 180 into 350 this week, any advice in moving him, what to catch him in and should I just put him straight in as the water is basically the same.
The tanks been running for a month and I put a load of bb in from my other tanks and I will be doing the first wc tomorrow and then again on Friday, does this sound like I'm doing the right thing.

Take every thing out, drain the water to level in pic, I dosed the water with 5 drops of AquaS to slow her down a bit, swim into bag, try not to get to much water in bag or it is hard to lift, close bag tightly and hang on tight, quickly transfer to new tank, only leave one lid open and block opening with bag as you open it. Dont have pics of the bag transfer was by myself lol

Thanks buddy, that's more or less what I was planning thanks for the confirmation.

My 22" arrowana was very calm inside my tank since I did handfeed it all the time. I did not use any net or any bag. When I feeded it, I placed both my hand underneath the fish with slow motion, one underneath the head and the other around the belly and raised it up close the surface slowly, hold it steady and raised it up and transfered over to the container. Now it lives in a large indoor pond (8'X6'X30") and becomes very skittish. It would not even let me to get close to it again.

Mine does let me stroke him all the time so I may try that,he's very friendly.

I would go with the bag method mate, a lot harder to pick up off the floor than out of the tank.
Why take the risk.

I use large Rubbermaid storage containers to transport large fish. Drain about 2/3 of the water then put the container in the tank and you should be able to get the fish in there. Easier than using bags in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies guys,I think il try the bag method as I won't be able to get a container in and out very easily.

x3 with the bag. I usually double bag it. Lower water as much as possible. So there's less stress for the fish and you. Good luck! Keep us posted.
