I am moving my 75g just to the other side of the living room have a pleco and two shovelnose cats in the tank should i drane the tank completely putting it in buckets including fish.or should i leave a little water in the tank and move the fish with the tank.

I say keep at least 30% of the water. OR ELSE..................................

another cycle.

yea i wood just go to home depot and buy a few of their 5 gallon buckets, just to be safe. You cood be ok with all new water as long as you have an established filter but i woodnt take that chance.

so i moved the tank got the fish in the tank leveled it topped off the water and now its about one half inch off level. I am freaked out by this do i put the fish in another tank do i drain some water and try to shim to get it level i don't want any more stress on the fish but i don't want to pop my tank. please input.

well i'd first check everything to see what part is unlevel (the floor, the stand) and then i'd deffinatly shim it to make it level.

When i have moved tanks, i've put all decor (except substrate), bubble stones, filter and fish and put them in a rubbermaid or a bucket. Then moved the tank, then put the filter and back in along with decor, then filled it with all fresh water and then put the fish in bags and acclimated them a little faster then normal, but still i took a good 5-8 min.
