Yes everyone the time is just around the corner I have purchased the 480 gallon oceanic beast!:headbang2 it is 96x36x31 the 36 is the wider length which is what i was looking for . I was told empty that this beast weighs 1100 pounds OMG:WHOA: lol but thats the fun part also I will be constructing a stand for this beast. insulated do to it is going in a garage but the garage is heated and well insulated as is. I will be useing a sump that is brand new that i actually thaught I would never use FINALLY.. and also going to go with a sand filter. this tank is going to be rays only tank and hopefully my buddy mike from H2O will be free the day of to help pipe this bad boy in ... as for my 240 that is going to be an in wall tank from the garage into my living room... thank GOD i can do this anyways this will be my thred of moving pics setting up picks all the way to ray pickups etc to the final end will be a long thread.... I 'm so stoked and excited over this my biggest tank ever.... Any ideas suggestions etc.. is greatly needed thanks:naughty:

I know my fellows will help me with this info but what recomendations do any of you have for heaters substrate and such lghts etc.... 480 gallons i want to use inline heaters or ill put them in the sump which is prob better off for the rays

one more add i forgot to tell you the bottom is black inlay so cant get scratched! was thinking to do the back black as well this tank was made with a side over flow as an island tank but my new place has no room to be an island maybe in a new house one day

I am just wondering why you went with such a tall tank for just rays? with 31"s tall it will look so empty with just rays in it.

for substrate you will want either sand or bare bottom, I would just put heaters in the sump. Depending on the room temp of the garage you should be able to get away with 2-3 300w heaters.

31" is what it was this is a used tank sorry should have said this earlier i would have done smaller if i ordered it out right tho
