I know there are quite a few topics on this same subject, but my problem isn't the move, it's the wait for my possessions to get to where I'm moving to -- I won't have a tank for about a week, but I want to prepare for the possibility of things not working out as quickly as even that. U-haul says the stuff will be there in that time frame, but I want to prepare for 10-14 days at least. I'm just too untrusting, I suppose.

Good news is I only have one fish, a 9" common pleco (and possibly the kuhli loach if he's still in there somewhere... haven't seen him in forever).

Currently I have a cooler and an air stone. I can do water changes... will this suffice for that time period? Should I consider something alternate like buying a smaller tank (like 30g) with a filter and heater while I wait for my larger tank to arrive (55g)? I don't really want to as I'm saving up for a 180 for him in the future. Any other alternate solutions or ideas I might not have thought of?

Thanks in advance!

I figured I should mention the sponge filter + several partial water changes worked out great! My pleco's happy and healthy in his tank again. :)

(Also, the loach was still in there and is a-okay as well. Had to dig out all the gravel to get to him, though... sneaky little guy!)
