I have a dilemma, I am moving into a new house and the only spot I can put my aquarium is 68 inches, not enough for my 125 gallon. I currently have 5 BP and 1 KKP who have happily lived here 2 years, never any issues with fighting or water quality.

my issue is I can’t find a 5 foot tank at a good price anywhere only a bunch of 4ft 150 gallon. Should I keep looking for a 5ft 120 or 150, or just get a4ft 150?

I could also split the tank into a rack but they are so happy together

Moving territorial fish from one house to another house can change the dynamics of the hierarchy, and that's not even changing the tank itself. I've observed that the fish use reference points outside of the aquarium which can cause territorial disputes. By reducing the tank foot print by even 8" can change the current harmony in your tank, going to 48" from 68" is enough to push certain fish over the edge.

I would keep looking for a longer one than 48" until you no longer have a choice but to go 4 feet. Have another tank if you have to separate.

What's your budget? I would steer clear of 4ft tanks too. You aren't going to find inexpensive tanks over 100 gallons brand new. I was in a similar situation and went custom.

An option is an "L" shaped corner tank that might give you use of the same gallonage or more. Glasscages, DreamTanks, TanksDirect might work for you. If you go acrylic, Sea Clear brand is least expensive. Truvu Aquariums has several "fatboy" tanks that go wide as opposed to length.
