As my plants start to fill out I am considering moving some of them around within the tank. Does uprooting the plants and replanting in different locations have any adverse effects of them?

They can melt with being moved or uprooted.

Agree with the above, depending on the type of plant, they can melt... stuff like Crypts are known to do this as they dont enjoy being shifted too much once settled...

If you got hardy plants or tougher stem plants you shouldnt have a problem...

Most carpet plants and mosses again should be fine (except the more sensitive ones), just gotta be careful when replanting to make sure they stay where you want them to...

Most plants can be moved, they just take time to recover and start growing again. :)

Thanks for the replies. Still learning the plant side of this hobby. I ended up moving some Anubis plants that were tied down to rocks. They had rooted a little in the sand but not too deep. Left the Val and crypt where they were. Swords are still not doing well. Bit baffled. Put the Val’s in about two weeks ago and they are spreading like crazy. Swords have been in for months. Melted and have never really come back.
Overall really happy with the look of the tank. Thanks again.

Swords need heavy root fertilization. With light vallis goes ham! Mine always goes for the front of the tank

I use root tabs on each of the swords and replace them every two to three Months. Doesn’t seem to make a difference. Vals are crazy. Lol. Hey have only been in the tank a few weeks.
