MAINE
Greeting MFKers (that never gets old),

On Sept. 1st I'm moving to a new home about 5 minutes down the road, big move, I travel far, I know.

I'm put up against the task of moving my established 125g aquarium and it's three inhabitants. I do have a plan, but would like to see if you guys have any ideas or pointers.

1.) Catch the fish, and place them in rubbermaid containers filled with tank water with air stones. Being summer in Maine, the ambient room temps should be enough to keep the water around 80 for a few hours.

2.) Drain the tank, and remove all substrate, put the substrate in totes with enough water to keep it covered.

3.)Move the aquarium, reinstall filters, fill with substrate and water, plug her in, and then transport the fish.

It seems simple enough, but my main questions are in regards to the filters and substrate. If I leave my fx5 full, will 4 or 5 hours without water movement break the cycle? Same with the substrate? Anything else you can see with my plan, or any tips you may have, I appreciate the help!
