I'm pretty sure my motoro female is pregnant and somewhere around the 8 week mark. The day before I moved them out to a temporary 6' round stock trough the water was all milky and she had quite a few bite marks on her pelvics (very few on the disc itself). Her appetite seems to really have increased the past couple of months, and as best as I can tell in the pond she does appear to be getting quite a hump. I'd like to move her back into the house into their 200 gallon DIY plywood tank, but am a bit leary about it right now because I don't want to stress her out too much and have her abort the pregnancy.

Has anyone else ever moved rays when they were about a month away from giving birth?

i would think if the water is the same in each tank it shouldnt really be a problem... especially if you keep her in water the whole time.( take her out of pond in container) i would send mike a PM csx4236 and ask him....

I've moved my pregnant ray and didn't seem to stress her to much, but she never came out of the water. I got her to swim into a large rubermaid contianer and moved her that way.
