I'll be moving in a little more than a week. I picked up a new/used 90 gal tank to make the move easier. The main question is, if my Rena XP3 is established will it create a cycled tank once it's hooked up and running?

it will definitely help youwill stillprobably have to go thru a mini cycle. you need to keep the rena running in the meantime tho to keep the bb alive and keep thr media wet when u move, i moved and did this and it worked out fine gl

If you keep the media wet, and complete moving the filter within around 24 hours, you will be OK. I've done that before and I did not even get a mini cycle.

Using the same substrate and keeping it wet will help a lot also

Ok, cool. I'm not even moving a mile. So as long I leave the rena full during the move I should be fine? I'm also planning on moving the sand in buckets too.

I have never moved or saved water when tearing down a tank. Some people like to because they feel like the fish will be shocked from totally fresh water. I have never had an issue using 100% new water.

I've moved quite a few times with many tanks being transported when I do...

Provided your water at the new house will be coming from the same municipality as the old house (meaning same water parameters) then saving old tank water will have zero benefit (other than it is already dechlorinated).

Even if the water comes from a different source and has different parameters it would be far easier to acclimate the fish to the new water right off the bat. Transporting vast amounts old tank water is a lot of work and yields very very little benefit.
