So, like the title says in a about a week i am gonna be moving my 3, 1 inch, marble crays to my apt, from my house. The drive is about 3.5 hours. i plan to just put them in a critter cage with water. Will they be fine for the 3.5 hour drive in the critter cage or will i need some kind of air pump

thanks

They should be just fine.

The water movement of being in a moving car will probably keep the disolved oxygen high enough. I'd look into getting a small battery powered air pump though just in case (I'm paranoid). Biggest issue will be temperature, make sure it stays cool in there. If the water gets over 90 degrees it can kill them. I'd aim for keeping it in the 70's.

The air will be fine. Keep your ac on to keep the temp right.

I have done this with shrimp and fish before.

Hell I used home depot construction buckets.

But for 3.5 hours critter case is best. Watch for water splashing around

I agree...I have moved fish with this method and have kept marble cray's as you described on my desk for week's. Mind you they had frequent water changes etc...but from what I know from keeping them this move wont hurt them a bit
