Hey guys and gals,

I have a 90 Gallon with a 7" Elong and I am going to be moving in the next week or so. Just curious what some of you have done as far as moving the tank. I am not going far, and will have a Uhaul, but its been so long since I have had to move, I am hoping for a few suggestions on the easiest way. Thanks

J

drain tank 75 % into a trash can transfer fish and heavy decor and filter media into trassh can and load it up refill when you get to the new house thats how i did mine worked very well

Don't save old water, just transfer them in old water and acclimate them properly.

yes save some old water so you have the bacteria you need. what i did with my 150 fresh, than 100 salt, just bought like 4 25 gallon rubbermaid containers, put them in those than moved the tank and when i set up the tank again i used about 3/4 of my old water, so you still have the good bacteria. so your tank wont re cycle itself.

I just used a rubbermaid tub and drained 1/2 the water into it, then transfered all fish and filters onto the tub. Moved the tank to the new house.. Then pumped the old water back into the tank, moved filters and fish back to the tank and then topped off with new water and dosed with Prime.. Worked for me and didn't have to re-cycle the tank..
