Moving tons of tanks 400 miles or so HELP!

Congratts on the score...

A few years ago a friend from my local fish club and I rented a trailer and drove about 300 miles to pick up 1,500 ~ 2,000 gal worth of tanks...

We took several pieces of plywood, some sheets as well as some cut pieces... a Ton of towels... a couple moving blankets...

Staked them as intelligently as possible using the plywood as reinforcement where needed and used towels wadded up to prevent movement.

We got back with not a bit of broken glass...

Pack correctly and drive carefully! :D

I'll wait until now to mention that I ran a moving company for 5 years... and have packed more trucks to half interstate than I could count ;-)

lol...

Take your time... think about it when you pack them... I'm sure you'll do fine...

Keep in mind, there is no need to pad a solid square on top of a solid square... that just makes them less stable...

If possible, take a couple of boards. If you have a stack with a minor difference between them, the board can even things out for ya...

stagger your tiers... meaning stack the tanks so they overlap, not all the same size on all the same size... although naturally you want all the same height on one level...

Think Tetris...........................

Just watch out for potholes good luck and have a safe trip
