How did you move your monster tank? Theres got to be someway some of you people got large tanks through your house. My dad says the only reason I can't do a monster tank is because of the weight of the tank. I want to do a 180 but they weigh around 350 pounds empty. Originally I wanted a 220 but that's not going to happen because they're even heavier. Any tips for successfully moving a tank.
PS: I would not have to weave it around corner. My room(which has more than enough space) is connected to a patio on the first floor which had a wide opening sliding door.

Doesn't sound like you need tips, just a few friends to help you carry it. Or go acryllic...

I'm hiring a moving company. I also had my floor re-enforced to handle the weight. when I lived with my folks the biggest tank I had was a 55.

a 180 or 240 glass can be moved with 2 large guys or 4 small guys by hand no problem.

Either of those can be moved with dollys or stands with wheels and floor jacks by yourself carefully with no problem.

However, I recommend going acrylic for 180 gallons and above.....Mainly because of strength. Silicone holding glass together with 180 or 240 gallons of water behind it makes me nervous. Just look through all of the "busted tank" threads. That much water messes stuff up bad, and a solid acrylic tank will decrease the propensity of that happening.

My 300 is 200lb+ empty(acrylic) and 4 guys(average types) carried it around my house on the outside with suction cups and those moving belts. As for the floor support, if you have a room that sits on concrete then you don't need to worry about it.
