Looking at moving to a place around a 45 min drive away. I have too many tanks, 13 tanks!!! Have anyone encountered such issues and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

whats your stock?
if theyre community fish i would just put them all in one large bucket and empty all he tanks and transport them like that? make sure to keep the filters wet though to keep the BB alive
also, random question, but where in hawaii are you from? i live on oahu

Got Aulonocaras(8 types with females) Synos(5 types) Plecos (5 types) 2 fronts ,brichardis, multis shellies ,jardini, and lot of juvienile Aulonocaras . I also live on Oahi . Only thing about relocating was to find places without wood floors so I could take take the tanks. I know that it will take at least 3 trips to get everything right. Question is will they survive the move when they go into a tank with all new water. There is no way I can transport a lot of water , but if I had to how much should I take. Let's say for a 55 gallon?

I once made a move from a city to a city which is like a 6 hour drive. I had only one tank and i strapped it good in the moving truck and emtied the water down to one third. All the fish made it. I hade a lot of live bearers community tank. u just need to drive slow and make u sure u have the tank strapped and fastened real good so it won't move. 45 min drive isn't that long.

just use the water you transported the fish in to get your tanks going. As long as your filters stayed wet the will have plenty of bacteria in them to cycle your tank just pull the filter pad and move it around inside the tank to get a quick release. Also 45 min is less time then it takes most people to get home from major fish stores so you wont have to worry.

Appreciate the replies, I know the drive ain't bad but was looking into tank breakdown time(taking out fish, sand, water) then loading ,unloading, setup and fill. Probably gonna run over 2 hrs for the bigger tanks . I have battery pumps (a lot of them) but worried about the stress the fishes might experience. Would it be better to keep all filter, biowheels in a bucket of water with an airpump to help the BB?

Are you not in a postion where you could free up one of your 13 tanks move it empty set it up and use it as a holding tank whilest you move another tank and set up and so on do the move over a couple of days? 13 does seem like a huge task!!

Ya, it is a huge task and not looking forward to it, it is a huge task and really stresses me out. I have to plan on doing this slowly and take my time. Probably will take me over a week to complete the move just for the tanks,
