I have 2 new tanks arriving this weekend, I'm going to move my 3ft lung to his new home ( a bigger tank). My lung is real ferocious. When I get my hands in the tank it attacks, and it attacks hard.(he will scare the living **** out of you) So I'm a little nervous about moving him without it getting bashed up.(or maybe me)
I was thinking about lowering the waterlevel to a bare minimum and using,
a big fish bag (the ones they use fo transport of big koi) or maybe a t shirt or maybe a pillowcase.

Any tips?

sounds like you have your hands full. when i moved my 18" florida gar i used a towel. i laid it on top of the water and slowly lowered it down around him. i also lowered the water level as you mentioned. i never dealt w/ a 3 footer though. im curious to see what others say. good luck!

Thats how I'd do it

Hey bro
Been there, done that! :) What you do is one of two things - your choice.

1. BIG fish net - scoop and dump.

2. towel him up and dump. It's really not that difficult. Just make sure you hold his tail (Support it) higher than his head, so that he doesn't use it to slip backwards.

My three foot lung likes to hang out in a long pvc tube. So I just block one end with a net and move while still in the tube

Thanx for all the tips guys.

I'm goning to use this tread to give some updates on the new tank project.

I got some PVC today to hook up the first tank to my Filters.
I'm going to use 2 filters per tank. one Eheim 2080 prof 3 and a Eheim 2081 prof 3 thermo.

First part is ready, the in and outlet. And I hope it's monsterproof.
The 32mm PVC will be commected to 32mm hose.
On my current setup I'm using the original Eheim stuff, but I have to
re-connect the inlets every day, (my lungfish likes to wreck stuff)
p.s. I measured my dolloi today and it reached 1 meter, it did some mass growing this last month. ...viva beefhart and tiger prawns.
