hi all

thanks in advance

These are great fish...mouthbreeders best kept in a harem (1M/3-4 females). They can grow to well over a foot. Not too aggressive or picky about water. Very prolific when they get to be about 3-4"...

I have Oreochromis Niloticus and Aureus together and they do great together. However from my Tilapia experience. Females are not as large or aggressive as males. My two chase each other a little but aren't really mean. Hope this helps a little c:Mosambicus certainly are beautiful! Do you have any pics of them?

sorry no pics yet as i havnt purchased yet but am considering ,they only hve 2 left both males from there fighting with each other .they are only about an inch at moment.one other question i had was would they be ok with a butti ,butti is about 3 inches both wou;d be going into a 750 ltre tank

butti will shred them in time (but buttis shred everything). If they are truly both males, they won't like each other, but the butti will remedy that. I kept them in the 1960s in an unheated bathtub, they were the 1st cichlids to spawn for me.

I agree with Matt and Duane, tilapia in a bath tub hahaha thats awesome, i have a pair remaining of the natural color variety, not crazy agressive but I've noticed with the female I got, when holding and getting ready to release she becomes quite aggressive chasing the male away from her....kept them in ponds for 2 years without ever feeding them.
