So I have a albino chocolate.... he eats... alot... yet, when I think he should be just chillin in the back of the tank(during the day). He will come out during my Dempsey's feeding time and start eating his food too! Is this a case that I need to feed him more? (He's a 6ish inch albino and is getting 2 hikari wafers 5 times a week and then green beans or zucchini the other two nights.)

What to do!

i notice this too with my own Albino chocolate... he would suddenly swim upward in high speed to get some pellet... I'd say ur doing a pretty good job feeding the pleco... they do eat alot..

I feed my own with two other pleco algae walfers every other day and cucmbers about every two days.
If u feel that it gets hungry.. try putting a potato... thats something i didnt know until i saw some dude on youtube feed a pleco with potato...

As for your pleco.. he's doing alrite.. mind if i ask he's got any tankmates?

He has a 2.5" EBJD in the tank with him. They've been together for like 2 months and the last 2 weeks are so were teh first time I had ever actually seen him out during the day =P

Ya.. plecos eat alot.. thats mostly what they do.. they like to clean up the gravel and eat up whatever they find... make sure theres driftwood.. i find plecos do better with driftwood.. softens up the water, and it creates a natural habitat of the amazons..

best of luck with him! ;)

I know we would like to thing otherwise but 99% of fish are not smart enough to know that any 'feeding time' may not be for them. While true a fish may not like a certain food and refuse to eat it but that doesn't mean he isn't expecting his food to drop in any second.

Most fish will eat as long as there is food around

My Hypostomus was in a ciclid tank for some years and NEVEr got fed any specific food.
Very sad, but the owner got sick and is still hospitalized, and his daugther gave me the fish after she had to sell the tank.
And then she started eating and never stopped again.
I feed her a quarter of a zuchinni everyday and eats all sorts of algae wafers.
And will clean the whole tank besides that.
She's allmost 11" now and fights my 10" Vieja over her zuchinni.
And my Pseuda as well, very greedy!

One of my plecos is 9 1/2 in he lives with a koi and some gold fish and loves tetra pond sticks. He will get some food in his mouth and bob there. I don,t think they can swim and eat at the some time.
