First of all, I have been dealing with Wes since 1999, me and my man Wes go way back. He sent me my first Hydrocynus Vittatus Feb 22nd 1999, this was I believe the first batch of tigers to be exported in some 10 years or so. I still have the transaction paper and printed emails we sent to each other. He worked for Amazon Aquarium at the time...lol. I grew the fish up to 23.7" before he was destroyed by a Salminus Maxillosus Dorado. With all that being said, I have been in this MFK hobby for quite sometime now, and through all the YEARS I have seen fish suppliers come and go... My man Wes still stands strong bringing only the rare stuff and consistently outdoing dudes. I don't collect aggressively anymore like some of the "new booties" on the site. But its all good, I still get mine. Lol.

Well 13 years later Feb 17th 2012, Wes sends me some more tigers but this time its Hydrocynus Goliath... Everyone needs to understand..... this man is the TRUTH. Fish looks great!

Wes thank you for the fine Goliaths you sent me. I appreciate you and what you do for our hobby...

What size tank do you need to get it to 24"? And are they better in shoals?

its a combination of the right food, tank size is not important. think this way, will a human living in a 10x10 room grow to a full grown adult? so unless the fish is larger than the tank, which means a person living in a 6x4 feet box, he may become deformed, otherwise it will do ok.

I've seen with my own eyes in Taiwan and Japan of a goliath grown to 24" in a 180 gallon 6x2x2 tank, with a bunch of armatus that are equal in size, not skittish at all.

Yes, right food, water quality... I kept mine in I believe a 360 gal. I am trying some new things with my tiger setup this time around. Excited to see how it works. Its tank mates consist of the following: 2) Goliaths, 1) Emperor Loach, 2) Endli Congo Bichir, 3) Dist Sexfaciatus, 10) Clown Loaches, 2) African Aros and 3) Tor Blue Mahseers.

I was afraid of an answer like this. Too easy.

I love the Hydrocynus Goliath....I would want a nice pool with a viewing room to watch him tho.
